About Schroders

We’re a global investment manager. We help institutions, intermediaries and individuals around the world invest money to meet their goals, fulfil their ambitions, and prepare for the future.

We have around 6,000 people on six continents. And we’ve been around for over 200 years, but keep adapting as society and technology changes. What doesn’t change is our commitment to helping our clients, and society, prosper.

The base

The role will be based out of our head office in the City of London. We’re close to our clients, in the heart of the UK’s financial centre and we have everything we need to work flexibly. There is an expectation of being in the office at least 3 days a week on average.

The team

The Schroders Solutions division currently looks after over £200bn in assets across DB, DC and Insurance clients. You'll be working in the Client Solutions team, which operates across the UK and internationally. We are responsible for the design and delivery of tailored investment strategies for our clients. We lead engagements with a range of clients, bringing deep investment knowledge and investment strategy insights to our client relationships. We come from a variety of backgrounds including pensions, investment and actuarial consulting, solutions and asset management.

What you’ll do

  • Support lead consultants in delivering a wide range of investment services, from designing investment strategy, developing solutions in response to changing market conditions, and meeting and building relationships with clients;
  • Draft high-quality client materials in line with required timescales;
  • Undertake numerical analysis using our in-house strategy development tools;
  • Help to monitor pension scheme investment strategies; and
  • Contributing towards new business opportunities within UK pensions, but increasingly other client types and geographies.
  •

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need

  • An understanding of UK DB pension scheme assets and liabilities, investment strategies including a range of asset classes, and the use of derivatives to manage risk;
  • At least a basic knowledge of pension scheme industry trends and topical issues; and
  • Prior work experience in investment consultancy, asset management or actuarial firms.

The knowledge, experience and qualifications that will help:

  • Good organisational and internal communication skills.  Able to manage multiple competing workstreams and priorities, keeping colleagues updated;
  • Although not required, at least partial completion of either CFA or similar is desirable;
  • Any experience with data visualisation tools (Power BI/Tableau) and Python programming is viewed as a plus, but not essential
  • Experience of working directly with clients, including presenting.

What you’ll be like

  • Well organised, with strong project management skills;
  • Good Communicator;
  • Willingness to collaborate across multiple teams; and
  • Highly curious and willing to learn.

We recognise potential, whoever you are

Our purpose is to provide excellent investment performance to clients through active management. Diversity of thought, facilitated by an inclusive culture, will allow us to make better decisions and better achieve our purpose. This is why inclusion and diversity are a strategic priority for us and why we are an equal opportunities employer. You are welcome here, regardless of your age, disability, gender identity, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, socio-economic background, or any other protected characteristic.
