Join xAI as a Member of Technical Staff, Ads, focusing on integrating Grok into our Ads Platform. You will work on large-scale, AI-powered advertising products across bidding, auction, ranking, and optimization, leveraging Grok models. You will own and operate systems and products that drive the majority of revenue and contribute directly to the company's mission. This role is based in Palo Alto with occasional work-from-home days.

About the role
We’re looking for exceptional engineers who want to join us on a new project to integrate Grok into all parts of our Ads Platform. We’re looking for individuals who have built exceptional advertising products and systems at a massive scale across bidding, auction, marketplace, ranking, prediction, and product. We’re bringing xAI’s technology stack to Ads Platform and using it to transform our advertising stack.
What You'll Do
- Leverage the latest Grok models to power all stages of our advertising stack, from candidate selection to ranking, auction, campaign optimization, creative generation, and advertiser experience.
- Own and operate systems and products, driving the majority of revenue.
xWho You Are
- 3+ years of industry experience working on large-scale, high-throughput AI-powered advertising products.
Tech Stack
- Python, Jax, Rust
Locations
- We hire engineers in Palo Alto. Our team usually works from the office 5 days a week but allow work-from-home days when required.
Interview Process
After submitting your application, the team reviews your CV and statement of exceptional work. If your application passes this stage, you will be invited to a 15 minute interview (“phone interview”) during which a member of our team will ask some basic questions. If you clear the initial phone interview, you will enter the main process, which consists of 2 technical interviews and 1 project deep-dive interview:
- Practical coding assessment in a language of your choice.
- AI design interview: Demonstrate practical skills in a live problem-solving session.
- Meet and greet with the wider team.
Our goal is to finish the main process within one week. All interviews will be conducted in person when applicable.
Annual Salary Range
$180,000 - $440,000 USD
