Policy Enforcement Manager leads YouTube's misinformation policy enforcement and oversees escalations to ensure high-quality outcomes, including during elections and geopolitical events. The role analyzes workflows to scale misinformation handling, leveraging data insights to measure impact and drive improvements. You will partner with Legal, Product, Engineering, and Public Policy teams to navigate issues and land high-priority decisions, and you will communicate enforcement updates across local and global teams. Some weekend on-call rotation may be required.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in Trust and Safety, policy, cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Experience in content policy, anti-abuse and reviewing online content, and scaled operations.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in SQL, building dashboards, data collection/transformation, visualization/dashboards, or in a scripting/programming language (e.g., Python).
  • Experience in identifying abuse trends and mitigating risks, including misinformation policy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, and the ability to influence cross-functionally at various levels.

Whether understanding and solving their online content concerns, navigating within global legal frameworks, or writing and enforcing worldwide policy, the Trust & Safety team is on the frontlines of enhancing the YouTube experience, building internet safety, and protecting free speech in our ever-evolving digital world.

As a Policy Enforcement Manager, you will work with a global team from Policy, Enforcement, Product, Engineering, Tools, Legal and other teams to prevent violative content from appearing on the site. With tools and technology, you will evaluate abuse trends and quality within vendor operations, and develop creative solutions to address quality, workflows and processes. You'll review decisions about the appropriateness of different content, including considerations of cultural and political sensitivities. You will work on-call on weekends on a rotational basis if needed.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee YouTube’s misinformation policies and manage escalations to ensure high-quality enforcement, including sensitive decision-making during elections and geopolitical events.
  • Analyze and prioritize operational improvements to scale misinformation workflows, driving tooling enhancements and efficiency.
  • Leverage data insights, data analysis to review the impact of abuse on the ecosystem and identify opportunities for operational improvement.
  • Partner closely with Legal, Product, Engineering, and Public Policy teams to navigate issues and land high-priority decisions.
  • Communicate strategic initiatives and enforcement updates to the broader organization, including local and global teams.
