Amazon is seeking an experienced, hands-on Field and Design Engineer to drive expansion of the Last Mile Delivery network in Japan. You will lead the design, planning, and construction milestones and budget for new SSD launches and modifications to existing stations, coordinating with external and internal stakeholders. The role will evolve to lead layout optimization, material handling equipment design, and construction project management across current and future logistics networks. Key responsibilities include layout feasibility studies, schedule and budget estimation, and cross-functional coordination to ensure safe, productive, and scalable deployments.

Amazon is looking to hire an experienced, innovative, hands-on, and customer-obsessed Field and Design Engineer that can drive expansion in our Last Mile Delivery network. As a member of the Japan Amazon Logistics Engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the physical launch of SSD including perishables and physical modifications to existing stations.

You will own the design, planning and implement the construction milestones and budget for new launch site and existing site modification with coordination of external and internal stakeholders, and will grow to lead the design, optimization of Delivery station layout, Material Handling Equipment and Construction project management of our existing and future Logistics network.

Key job responsibilities
- Project management of the new SSD launch including perishable leading the development of design, project milestones and budget estimation to secure the target launch schedule.

- Existing SSD infrastructure modification/upgrade project management to improve safety/productivity/capacity.

Detailed Responsibilities
- Layout design and feasibility study
- Project timeline/Budget estimation
- Project management of construction Cost/schedule/quality.
- Coordination with external and internal stakeholders
- Trouble shooting and problem solving

Basic Qualifications

- 5+ years of industrial engineer, operations engineer, manufacturing engineer, or project engineer in a manufacturing environment experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, management, or technology
- Business-level proficiency in speaking, listening, and writing in both Japanese and English.

Preferred Qualifications

- Knowledge of AutoCAD, VBA, and SQL at the intermediate level
- Experience working with and managing third party vendors
