Job Title: Mainframe DB2 DBA and Developer, AS

Location: Pune, India

Your key responsibilities

• Act as a DB2 DBA to support application teams and help design and develop application code, implement technical solutions, and configure applications for business needs. Participate in design and architecture of applications and promote re-usability of components.
• Be part of the company’s transformation program and internalize knowledge.
• Have deep knowledge of systems and applications to define evolution, evaluate impact of regulations or new business requirements, manage changes, and collaborate in approved project implementation and maintenance.
• Work on applications based on mainframe technology (DB2 DBA and JCL/Cobol/Cics/MQ, REXX).

• Knowledge internalization
• DBA Admin Tasks, handling development support requests, managing releases
• Functional design, technical design and programming involvement
• New projects, enhancements and maintenance for a set of applications
• Ensuring IT Application Life Cycle standards in enhancements and maintenance
• Aligning application changes with application strategy
• Identification and management of risks and issues associated with the application
• Ensuring maximum operational availability and stability
• Cost efficiency

People Management

• Proficiency in working with global and local teams, managing vendors and/or third parties
• Ability to work in a collaborative scrum environment; scrum master experience or scrum working is desirable

Experience

• 5+ years in development and maintenance of banking business applications

Education/Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, IT or similar; Master recommended
• English proficiency required
• Experience and knowledge of banking business and its operations
• Knowledge and experience in systems and end-to-end processes related to financial agents and intermediaries
• Experience as DB2 DBA is a must and programming knowledge in JCL/Cobol/Cics/DB2/MQ, REXX is good to have
• Experience in application solutions from technological perspective with ability to understand key aspects of technical platforms and infrastructure
• Solid knowledge of software engineering, design patterns and software architecture
• Development background and demonstrated experience as analyst / technical lead
• Experience analyzing existing systems from high level architecture to application code review
• Experience with technical documentation, architectural diagrams, components, flows, use cases
• DevOps-oriented mindset
• Experience with testing/QA tools
• Strong technical knowledge and ability to understand complex business processes and workflows
• Teamwork capacity with multidisciplinary teams
• Leadership and communication skills
• Ability to identify risks, resolve conflicts and plan tasks
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Knowledge of methodologies in application development (e.g., Agile)
• Experience as scrum master and knowledge of application development life cycle is a plus
