Staff Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer

 

 

Summary:

 

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Staff QA Engineer with a maximum of 5 years of experience in both Manual and Automated testing. The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker, proficient in modern QA practices, and possess hands-on experience with industry-leading automation tools, specifically Selenium and Playwright. This role is pivotal in driving our product quality and fostering continuous improvement within our testing processes.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Requirements and Test Strategy:

 

  • Actively participate in requirement analysis and collaborate with product and development teams to clarify Use Cases and User Stories.
  • Proactively seek and document clarifications to resolve ambiguities and maintain a clear understanding of project scope.
  • Design comprehensive Test Scenarios and detailed Test Cases, ensuring complete traceability to initial requirements.
  • Conduct timely and thorough reviews of test artifacts prepared by peers and other team members.

 

Execution and Defect Management:

 

  • Execute Manual and Automated test cases across various testing types (e.g., Regression, Smoke, System, API, Mobile/Web).
  • Utilize expertise in Selenium and Playwright to develop, maintain, and execute robust automation scripts.
  • Perform REST/SOAP API testing using tools like Postman.
  • Identify, categorize, and report defects/bugs accurately, providing clear steps to reproduce.
  • Collaborate closely with the Development team to facilitate issue resolution and track defects to closure.
  • Immediately raise flags for critical issues, blockers, or major impediments.

 

Quality and Process Improvement:

 

  • Manage and own QA deliverables, ensuring all assigned tasks meet established quality criteria and timelines.
  • Strive to continually raise the standards of QA processes, procedures, and documentation within the team.
  • Monitor the progress and quality of the project, proactively managing and mitigating any arising hindrances.
  • Be accountable for all assigned QA tasks, focusing on delivering a consistently high-quality final product.

 

 

Required Qualifications and Skills

 

  • Experience: Around 5 years in QA software testing, including both functional and non-functional testing, within complex, project-based environments.

 

 

Automation Expertise (Hands-on is Mandatory):

 

  • Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining robust test automation frameworks using Selenium and Playwright.
  • Practical experience and strong proficiency with Playwright.

 

 

Technical & Testing Skills:

 

  • Proven experience in REST/SOAP API testing using tools such as Postman.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL queries, including knowledge of joins and views.
  • Experience in testing both Mobile and Web applications.
  • Solid understanding of various testing types (e.g., Black-box, White-box, Regression, Smoke, Sanity, System, Accessibility).

 

 

Process & Tools:

 

  • Deep operational experience within the Agile/SCRUM; knowledge of SAFe is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with Test Management tools (e.g., ALM, JIRA, Azure DevOps).
  • Strong background working within a standard Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

 

 

Soft Skills:

 

  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and collaborative skills for working effectively within cross-functional and intercultural teams.
  • Proven ability to work independently, demonstrating strong rational analysis and logical thinking.
  • Great team player with strong interpersonal skills and a solid work ethic.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and improvement in software testing best practices.
