Join FactSet as a Senior Reporting Specialist in the Buy-Side Reporting Managed Services team for APAC. You will become the subject matter expert in FactSet’s buy-side reporting solutions, focusing on production stability, governance, and client communication. You will run and monitor report production, validate data, and drive improvements while partnering with Product & Engineering to resolve issues and implement enhancements. You will own client governance, SLAs, and cross-functional workflows, collaborating with global teams.

We are looking for a Senior Reporting Specialist to join our Buy-Side Reporting Managed Services team in APAC.

This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic, intellectually curious, and takes pride in delivering high-quality, reliable reporting services to enterprise clients. You will become a subject matter expert in FactSet’s buy-side reporting solutions, operating in a Managed Services context with a strong focus on production stability, continuous improvement, governance, and client communication.

Role Focus Areas

1. Client Environment Monitoring & Advisory

  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients on both business and technical aspects of buy-side reporting solutions
  • Design, enhance, and maintain reporting solutions while ensuring the stable operation of client environments
  • Respond to client requests, questions, and issues related to reporting platforms in a production setting

2. Project & Change-Related Work (Non-BAU)

  • Participate in non-Business-As-Usual (BAU) activities, including:
    • Change requests
    • Software upgrades
    • Platform enhancements
  • Support controlled change in live environments, ensuring minimal disruption and clear client communication

3. Cross-System Integration & Automation

  • Integrate reporting solutions within a broader ecosystem using:
    • APIs and Web Services
    • Automation, scheduling, and monitoring tools
  • Contribute to workflow automation using programming, scripting, and database technologies
     

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain high-quality reporting solutions aligned with best practices and client expectations
  • Design reports, including underlying logic, calculations, and layouts, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and consistency
  • Support clients in production environments to help them achieve their reporting objectives
  • Work closely with Product & Engineering teams to:
    • Investigate and resolve defects
    • Test fixes and enhancements
  • Provide clear progress updates and transparency on client and project-related activities
  • Act as a product expert across internal and client-facing interactions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Sales, Strategy) to influence product improvements
  • Design and maintain complex, automated client workflows covering:
    • Data loads and validation
    • Calculations and transformations
    • Data extracts and reporting outputs
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues related to client architectures, data processing, and performance
  • Build strong working relationships with global sales specialists, consultants, and enterprise clients
  • Develop a solid understanding of the financial logic behind reporting modules and methodologies
     

Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field
  • 3+ years of relevant professional experience in reporting, managed services, enterprise software, or a similar technical/client-facing environment
  • Strong technical, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with programming or scripting, with exposure to C# and HTML and familiarity with general programming principles
  • Understanding of 3-tier architectures (client - application server - database)
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with global teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in client-facing contexts
  • Curious mindset with a strong desire to learn and continuously improve
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken
     

Preferred / Advantageous Skills (not mandatory)

  • SQL knowledge, including query writing, debugging, and performance tuning
  • Experience with relational databases (e.g. SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL)
  • Familiarity with application server environments (e.g. Tomcat, JBoss/WildFly, IIS)
  • Experience with Web Services and APIs (XML, JSON)
  • Additional programming or scripting languages (e.g. Python, Java, JavaScript, Shell, VBA)
  • Familiarity with Razor or templating concepts within C#
  • Knowledge of financial instruments, financial reporting, or financial software solutions
  • Advanced Excel usage (including VBA)
  • Experience with Windows Server environments
  • Awareness of authentication concepts such as SAML
