JOB DESCRIPTION

Title: Manager, Software Development – Data (Document Management System)

Location: Kronberg, Germany
Level: Manager - Grade 5

About Us

For more than 50 years, we’ve helped clients build stronger financial futures by working collaboratively across our global network. Join our Software Development Data team and experience what it means to be part of something bigger.

About Your Team

The Software Development Data team designs, develops, and supports data transfers across our internal systems and client interfaces. Our scope includes database design, ETL processes, reporting solutions, and the maintenance of an enterprise document management platform. We ensure the smooth and reliable operation of our systems while providing high‑quality 2nd‑level support.

About Your Role

In this role, you will lead the organisation and continuous enhancement of our document management ecosystem, which handles more than 20 million documents annually. You will partner with both business and technical teams to ensure information is accurately captured, efficiently distributed, and readily accessible for daily operational needs.

You will manage service delivery and internal product management for our document management and document distribution solutions, guiding a technical team responsible for implementation, maintenance, operation, and monitoring.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Understanding business requirements and shaping how our document management solution supports them.
  • Defining and configuring new document types, destinations, and transfer rules.
  • Executing ad hoc operational tasks, such as metadata corrections or document adjustments.
  • Maintaining and developing our in‑house distribution platform, including user administration, role and rights management, and reporting.
  • Enhancing system performance, scalability, and resilience to support FFB’s growth agenda.
  • Managing the underlying infrastructure—hardware, operating systems, and databases—to ensure stability and compliance.
  • Leading testing activities, coordinating release management, and providing ongoing production support.
  • Participating in both project work and day‑to‑day operations within an agile, cross‑functional environment.

This is a hands‑on role requiring strong technical affinity, proactive problem‑solving, and a desire to continuously improve our systems and processes.

About You

  • You take full technical ownership of our document management and distribution solutions, ensuring reliability, scalability, and continuous improvement.
  • You partner effectively with business stakeholders, translating their needs into clear technical requirements and delivering high‑quality solutions.
  • You bring solid experience across IT service management and the software development lifecycle, from testing and release management to ongoing production operations.
  • You are confident providing 2nd‑level support, analysing incidents, and collaborating with external vendors to drive timely resolutions.
  • You hold a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in computer science, business management, or a related field, and have 3–4 years of experience in software development, application support, or financial‑services technology.
  • You have strong SQL skills and practical experience with relational databases, alongside familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • You thrive in cross‑functional, agile teams and communicate clearly in both German and English.
  • You are adaptable, collaborative, and committed to continuous learning and personal growth.
  • You are willing to work onsite in Kronberg for 12 days per month to engage effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.

Feel Rewarded

We offer a comprehensive benefits package, support your development, and promote a flexible working environment that balances personal and business needs. Our dynamic working principles empower you to contribute meaningfully while enjoying a positive, supportive culture.
