Job summary
As an Economic Analyst, Senior Associate in the Chase Center for Economic Intelligence team, you help us create analytical views and narratives for small businesses using internal data. You collaborate with economists and data scientists to distill data signals into engaging content about economic trends, regions, and verticals. Together, we develop a holistic view of financial well-being and drive innovation in economic analysis. You have the opportunity to contribute to executive communications, external publications, and ongoing research initiatives.

 

Job responsibilities

  • Distill and translate data signals into compelling storytelling about economic sectors, regions, and verticals.
  • Monitor and analyze key business segments and conduct deep dives on relevant economic topics.
  • Respond to requests for support by translating economic data into reports, visuals, presentations, and other content formats.
  • Format and publish content in pre-defined templates for internal and external audiences.
  • Pull data and prepare talking points for executives and external spokespeople.
  • Contribute to team outputs such as earnings reports, weekly executive communications, and external publications.
  • Propose new metrics or methodological improvements for measuring business health and trends.
  • Maintain strong controls in partnership with internal functions to ensure compliance.
  • Work with Data Science and Economics teams to define, design, and maintain economic visualizations.
  • Contribute to an actionable research and analytics roadmap focused on innovation and improvement.

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 4 years of relevant experience in consumer/business finance, economics, analytics, or related field.
  • 1 year of experience in economic research, commentary, or analysis outside of an academic setting.
  • Advanced analytical mindset with ability to extract insights from data.
  • Comfort with SQL and Tableau, or willingness and aptitude to learn.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills for varied audiences.
  • Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and strategies.
  • Proven ability to analyze and communicate microeconomic and macroeconomic trends.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and adaptability.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and multi-tasking capability.
  • Enthusiasm for producing quality work.

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Coding experience or experience collaborating with data scientists.
  • Journalistic or narrative-driven communication experience.
  • Experience producing content for executives, media, or business owners.
  • Experience with economic visualizations and BI tools.
  • Familiarity with business health metrics and economic trend analysis.
  • Experience in content production for external publications.
  • Ability to propose innovative research methodologies.
