As an Infrastructure Engineer III (Teradata) you'll administer and optimize large-scale Teradata data warehouse environments, including backup/restore (BAR) operations for multi-petabyte databases and SUSE Linux baseline configurations. You will implement and monitor security and configuration standards, tune performance using TASM, and manage patches, upgrades, and related software deployments. The role partners with IT Risk and deploys infrastructure components ranging from storage and network devices to database software. Required skills include on-prem Teradata administration, Linux administration, NetBackup/Dell-EMC Data Domain experience, and strong performance tuning abilities.

- Implement standards for configuring and securing one of the largest Teradata data warehouse databases.
- Implement and monitor Baseline configuration standards for the SUSE LINUX Operating System that runs the Teradata system.
- Provide engineering support for Teradata Backup and Restore (BAR) infrastructure to backup Teradata databases with a size of 2.5 PB.
- Administer, maintain, and utilize policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the databases.
- Monitor and Analyze database performance data for optimization opportunities.
- Partner with IT Risk to ensure sound information protection tools and practices are in place for the Teradata platform.
- Plan and implement changes to the Teradata platform, such as patches, database upgrades, and installation and configuration of related software.
- Deploy a wide variety of technologies ranging from storage devices to network switches to database software.
- Tune performance via TASM.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on infrastructure disciplines concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Teradata Administration (On-prem) experience required
- Hands-on experience in the field of information technology , with experience as an Infrastructure DBA and as a Linux administrator
- Strong experience in Teradata Backup and Restore (BAR) operation with in-depth knowledge in NetBackup and Dell-EMC Data Domain configuration.
- Strong experience in Teradata performance tuning
- Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills
- Self-motivated, quick learner and team player
- Experience with Teradata utilities and Teradata product suite is required.
- Teradata Administration (Cloud) and AWS Cloud knowledge is desired
- Strong hands-on on system/operations dba activities preferred
- Strong expertise/understanding in reengineering system processes preferred
