Lead Infrastructure Engineer role focusing on designing and architecting NoSQL databases, multi-cloud deployment, and infrastructure as code. Responsible for data model optimization, index design, backup/recovery policies, encryption at rest/in transit, and large-scale data migrations. Collaborates with application teams to understand data access patterns, implements automated deployment pipelines, and ensures regulatory compliance and data consistency across on-prem and multi-cloud environments. Documents architectures and procedures for database technologies and processes.

Location: Plano, TX, United States

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Design and architect NoSQL databases based on application requirements. Ensure data models are optimized for performance and scalability. Collaborate with application developers to understand data access patterns and design appropriate schema structures. Implement indexes to enhance query performance. Monitor and tune databases for optimal performance. Guide the application teams on using the right backup and recovery policies. Document and communicate the steps for upgrading to latest versions of database software. Implement automated deployment pipelines for database environments. Manage database infrastructure using the infrastructure as a code tools. Ensure consistency and reproducibility in infrastructure configurations. Implement encryption-at-rest and in-transit for sensitive data. Ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations and control procedures. Design database solutions for deployment across on-prem cloud and multiple public cloud providers. Manage data synchronization and consistency in a multi-cloud environment. Plan and execute large-scale data migrations between versions or across databases. Create and maintain documentation for database architectures, processes, and procedures. Design and implement data models for complex business domains with intricate relationships.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Lead Infrastructure Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, Software Engineer, Database Administrator, Process Engineer, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field of study plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or as Lead Infrastructure Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, Software Engineer, Database Administrator, Process Engineer, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Designing and Architecting NoSQL databases; Identity and Access Management of databases; SRE experience in managing Production database instances; Infrastructure-as-code experience to manage database infrastructure; Managing and configuring monitoring tools to maintain the stability of the databases; Agile and Lean philosophies to manage the backlogs and prioritization of product features and delivery.
