The Data Analytics Specialist will partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver data-driven solutions, including complex SQL queries, data models, recurring reports and ad-hoc analyses. The role supports strategic projects within Wealth Management by producing analyses and visualizations and requires strong collaboration, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools are expected.

The Analytics & Data Organization is part of Morgan Stanley’s Wealth Management Division. Our responsibility is to support Wealth Management’s strategic objectives through the use and exploitation of its data and analytical assets.

You will:

  • Interface with Business Partners on a regular basis to understand business needs and expectations
  • Be fully hands on with writing complex SQL queries and building complex data models and analyses, based on agreed upon requirements
  • Support the business through producing recurring reports, ad-hoc analyses and taking part in strategic projects through data modeling and analysis

You have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Technical field with Business/Economics background or vice versa
  • 2-3 years of related experience
  • Confident in English (both written and spoken), with solid presentation and communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL – confidence in writing long complex SQL queries using multiple tables
  • Knowledge of a Data Visualization Tool (Tableau/QlikView/Spotfire/PowerBI/Adobe Analytics or similar) and willingness to improve is a plus
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple business units, teams, and job functions
  • Highly motivated / self-starter with a sense of ownership, willingness to learn, high degree of curiosity and desire to succeed
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to determine business partner needs and create purpose-built solutions
