We’re seeking an ABAP engineer to join SAP’s Management of Change team and develop new product features for SAP S/4HANA in the Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) domain. You’ll work with the ABAP development stack and build end-user business applications, using SAP UI5/Fiori frameworks and other SAP tools. You’ll participate in all phases of software development, adhere to high code quality standards, and collaborate in a Scrum team to continuously improve the product and your skills. The role supports processes in industrial safety, health, and environmental protection, ensuring compliance with industry and ISO standards.

What you`ll do:

We are looking for an ABAP engineer to join our Management of Change team and develop new product features as part of SAP S/4HANA, within the Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) domain. We use the ABAP development stack and develop end user business applications.

 

SAP EHS is part of the Sustainability area and supports our customers with all activities in industrial safety, health, and environmental protection. The Management of Change component supports the processes of administrating, managing and performing changes in all aspects of an organization, ensuring compliance to various industry and ISO standards.

 

The Role:

As an Application engineer, you will:

  • Participate in all phases of software development and delivery: from research and prototyping, design and architecture, through implementation and testing, to deployment, support and operations 
  • Learn and work with SAP development tools and technologies, like Fiori and SAP UI5 frameworks, ABAP programming language,  SAP Business Technology Platform, and others
  • Adhere to the industry’s best practices and the team’s high standards for code quality
  • Build advanced knowledge of development processes and product standards
  • Work as part of a scrum development team, closely together with others and exchange knowledge to ensure product success
  • Constantly improve your agile software engineering skills as well as contribute to the continuous improvement of your team and product

 

What you bring:

  • Strong expertise in software development:
    • Deep knowledge in OOP, data structures, algorithms and solid experience in coding. Experience with ABAP Development would be considered an advantage
    • Good knowledge of user interfaces, MVC concept and UI frameworks that are based on it. JavaScript, HTML/CSS, UI5 will be considered an advantage 
    • Good understanding of software architecture principles, modern cloud architectures and design of large software systems
    • Excellent knowledge of databases, relational databases design and SQL
  • Curious and eager to dive in different technologies, concepts and tools
  • Excellent communication skills, proven both in relations with teammates and partners, as well as with customers and external stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • You should be fluent in English, both spoken and written
