Responsible for growing Amazon Australia’s payments business by developing partnerships and signing new deals with fintechs, banks, and travel/hospitality companies across APAC. Lead the business development strategy, define partnership terms, and collaborate with product, legal, and technical teams to deliver revenue growth. Build and manage strategic relationships, drive merchant payment contracts, and optimize partner performance in the APAC payments ecosystem. This is a full-time, in-office role at a CBD location in Australia.

Are you comfortable managing and growing payments and banking partnerships? Do you want to support in the development of new revenue streams for Amazon that will have a significant and measurable impact on the bottom line? Amazon Australia’s payments business needs an experienced Business Developer and Account Manager to help us grow existing and new partnerships.

As a Business Development Manager, you will primarily be accountable for the strategy to grow the APAC payments business by developing partnerships and signing new deals with fintechs, banks, and travel/hospitality companies. To achieve success, you must have experience influencing internal and external partners, driving cross-team coordination, along with a basic knowledge of technology.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas: a) business development; b) partner management, including assessing program metrics; c) credit card, BNPL or rewards program management, including running partnership program, creating measurement and success metrics and optimizing performance with partners

Furthermore, the ideal candidate will have successful personal attributes including strong ownership, creativity, leadership, earning trust in relationships, and ability to influence outcomes both internally and externally. This opportunity requires excellent problem-solving and communication skills. The successful candidate will find practical solutions to complicated problems without sacrificing quality. The candidate is entrepreneurial, self-sufficient and results oriented.

Key job responsibilities
As a Business Development Manager with Amazon Australia Payments, your key responsibilities will include:
- Sourcing, negotiating and signing deals with partners across APAC
- Creating a business development strategy and framework in support of the product vision and delivery timeline and work closely with internal product teams
- Defining key partnership deal terms with business, legal, and technical teams
- Building critical relationships across the industry
- Managing and driving growth with strategic partnerships
- Building and Leveraging established relationships across Amazon to drive payments growth.
- Payments processing and acquiring knowledge, experience negotiating merchant payment contracts across pricing constructs and terms

You'll engage with executive teams, craft compelling partnership proposals, and navigate complex negotiations that unlock new revenue streams. Basic Qualifications

- 3+ years of business development, partnership management, or sourcing new business experience
- 3+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience with sales CRM tools such as Salesforce or similar software
- Experience in setting up and managing a sales pipeline

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience interpreting data and making business recommendations
- Experience in online advertising or high-tech products/services
