BBVA is seeking a PRODUCT SALES GTB SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT to lead origination and structuring of complex structured trade finance solutions for clients in the Asia-Pacific region. The role involves originating non-vanilla trade finance transactions, taking on deals autonomously, and driving client acquisition with a hunter mindset. You will analyze feasibility and risk, prepare Information Memorandums and Lender Presentations for lead role opportunities, and collaborate with the Distribution team to originate and distribute transactions. Travel across APAC and staying ahead of industry developments are expected.

About the job:

As part of the CIB Structured Trade Finance Solutions team in Asia, the successful candidate will be responsible for the origination and structuring of structured solutions for clients in the Asia-Pacific region, such as transactionally secured bilateral facilities, inventory finance, contract monetizations, prepayments, PXF, borrowing base facilities and other bespoke structured solutions.

Responsibilities

As part of the CIB Structured Trade Finance Solutions team in Asia, the successful candidate will have principal responsibilities comprising the following:

  • Originate and structure non-vanilla trade finance transactions.

  • Take on and handle transactions autonomously.

  • Demonstrate a proactive, results-driven approach to identifying and acquiring new business opportunities, with a strong hunter mindset focused on growth and client acquisition.

  • Stay informed on industry developments and competitor strategies, proactively adapting sales plans to maintain a competitive edge.

  • Analyze transactions (feasibility, risks); identify key issues and propose improvements to achieve successful financing.

  • Actively engage with the Distribution team to enable the Bank to originate and distribute Structured Trade Finance transactions.

  • Prepare Information Memorandums and Lender Presentations for lead role opportunities.

Job Requirements

  • Deep knowledge and expertise in structured trade finance products such as transactionally secured facilities, inventory finance, contract monetizations, prepayments, PXF, borrowing base structures and other complex structures.

  • Relevant experience in Structured Trade or Commodity Finance, or a comparable background in investment banking or related industries.

  • Proven experience in winning and executing large-scale mandates and/or lead arranger mandates.

  • Business school/university degree in economics, business administration, law, or engineering.

  • CFA, ACCA, CIMA, or working towards a similar accreditation.

  • Experience working in an international environment.

  • A strong understanding of the accounting treatment of structured trade and commodity finance transactions at the client level; hands-on experience with the accounting of such structures will be viewed very positively.

  • Willingness to travel to engage with clients across the APAC region.

  • Fluency in English; knowledge of an Asian language is a plus.
