Senior Director-level role responsible for building and managing strategic relationships with third-party engineering technology partners, aligning them to BNY Mellon’s priorities to drive commercial value, adoption, and innovation. Acts as the primary liaison between engineering, Enterprise Sourcing Office, Strategic Partnerships and Innovation (SPIN) and client teams, managing escalations, performance frameworks, and co-development initiatives.

- Understand BNY spend, client opportunity, innovation potential and business criticality to prioritize engineering partners and allocate executive relationship-management capacity accordingly.
- Develop and sustain deep, strategic relationships with third-party engineering partners (infrastructure, software, AI) and align them to BNY’s goals and priorities.
- Develop and manage relationship management framework for key partners including operational, strategic and executive levels to reinforce service delivery, maximize commercial value and enable innovation.
- Act as executive escalation point for sustained operational or commercial challenges. Collaborate with the Enterprise Sourcing Office and engineering stakeholders to drive performance framework, partner improvements and cost-effective sourcing decisions.
- Identify, evaluate and pursue co-innovation and co-development opportunities that enhance engineering capabilities and competitive advantage. Present quantitative and qualitative business cases for each project, ensuring they are used to scope project efforts.
- Stay informed on market trends, partner capabilities and emerging technologies—partnering with SPIN where appropriate to monitor startups and innovations.
- Facilitate forums and communication between partners and engineering teams to build understanding on available technology and support innovation.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (or equivalent work experience); advanced degree preferred.
- 12+ years of related experience, including partner relationship management within engineering or technology sectors.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to drive value through technology partnerships.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to analyze market data, internal performance and competitor intelligence to inform strategic decisions.
- Experience fostering innovation, co-development initiatives and executive-level engagement.
- Collaborative mindset, comfortable working across diverse teams and functions.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $127,000 and $230,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
