Institutional Sales Representative – Japan Investment Management (IM)

We have an exceptional opportunity of a Institutional Sales Representative to join our Japan Sales team to lead the growth of our Investment Management (IM) business in Japan.  We are seeking an ambitious, motivated and deal driven individual to aggressively grow our IM client base in Japan and continue the development of the high performing team in the region.

Japan is a thriving and dynamic market with a strong appetite for sophisticated analytical tools, providing excellent growth opportunities.  In recent years, Japan IM has been one of the fastest growing markets in the world and offers substantial scope for continued aggressive growth.

The successful candidate will be expected to directly contribute to ASV (Annual Subscription Value) growth in the region, managing his or her own book of business.  Additionally, the ideal candidate will be required to lead and mentor the junior members of the team and develop and execute a sales strategy with the sales manager to maximize FactSet’s growth and market share in this important market.

This opportunity requires an exceptional candidate with a proven track record of delivering strong sales numbers, developing and closing significant deals and building out relationships with large & strategic accounts. Additionally, a track record of leadership, mentoring and development of colleagues is critical for this role.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and execute strategic and tactical regional sales plan to maximize ASV growth and exceed quarterly regional ASV goals on an individual and team basis
  • Identify, develop and close sales opportunities at existing clients
  • Develop a strong and productive network across the Japan client base; aggressively expand our existing contact base to introduce FactSet to new user groups and at senior levels.
  • Support, advice and mentor junior sales members and consultants to maximize their effectiveness and FactSet’s client penetration.
  • Apply a disciplined and high quality sales process based on high activity, focus on well-qualified high value opportunities and strong execution of trials and negotiations.  Instill this approach in the Japan IM team.
  • Develop a marketing plan for the region including sponsoring industry conferences, hosted client events, branding and direct marketing.

What We're Looking For:

  • Minimum of 5 years tenure in the industry and 3 years in a sales role.
  • Track record of exceeding ASV goals and developing and closing high value sales opportunities.
  • Demonstrated strong sales skills across the sales process: creating opportunities; presentation; managing trials and negotiating & closing deals.
  • Thorough knowledge of buy-side client workflows.
  • Proven ability to develop productive and profitable relationships with senior client contacts.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership and mentoring skills in current and previous roles.
  • Drive, enthusiasm and a desire to exceed targets.
  • Ability to maintain confidence and composure in stressful situations.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
