We are seeking an adaptable, strategic, and solution-oriented Business Development Manager to join Klarna’s Partner Success Team. In this role, you will work with Klarna’s largest and most strategic merchants to uncover growth opportunities and deliver scalable, value-driven solutions. You’ll build and execute joint business plans, drive enablement and lead generation with internal teams, identify new partnerships, close deals and upsells, and manage executive relationships. You will conduct market research, maintain budgets, and deliver Quarterly Business Reviews to merchants’ C-suite teams, while adapting the business model to remain culturally relevant.

What You Will Do

We are currently seeking an adaptable, strategic, and solution-oriented Business Development Manager to join one of our Partner Success Teams. In this role, you will work with Klarna’s largest and most strategic merchants and uncover growth opportunities and deliver scalable, value-driven solutions. You’ll need to be comfortable in a fast-paced, self-directed environment where critical thinking, rapid learning, and strategic decision-making are essential to success. In this role, you will:

  • Build and execute jointly agreed-upon business plans with partners or merchants to drive mutual growth and success.

  • Deliver enhancements to existing brands and identify areas for improvement with key strategic partners.

  • Work closely with internal analysts, delivery, and marketing teams at Klarna to drive enablement and lead generation activities.

  • Identify new partnerships or business opportunities, pitch Klarna’s services, and close new deals, upsells, and expansion opportunities.

  • Build strong relationships at both the executive and individual levels.

  • Manage key internal and external stakeholder relationships, including C-suite.

  • Conduct extensive market research to position Klarna optimally.

  • Network effectively with local clients and develop strong professional relationships.

  • Ensure deadlines are met and budgets are maintained.

  • Create and deliver Quarterly Business Reviews to members of merchants’ C-suite teams.

  • Adapt the business model to be culturally relevant without losing its identity.

  • Play an important role in taking Klarna to the next level.


Who You Are

  • 5+ years in Business Development, Account Management, or Sales.

  • Experience in retail, payments, technology, and/or ecommerce.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

  • Highly driven with a passion for learning about and engaging with new cultures.

  • Desire to build a business from the ground up.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • Thrive in an environment that values ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Awesome to Have

  • Advanced degree or relevant certifications.

  • Experience with international markets and cross-cultural communication.

  • Proficiency in multiple languages.

  • Experience with CRM tools and data analysis software.
