Xero is looking for an Account Executive to support Accounting Partners in South Africa, helping them onboard their first five clients and reach Bronze Partner status. You will mostly meet remotely with partners to understand their business, manage partner inquiries, and ensure a high-quality experience as they begin their journey with Xero. You’ll work with the SA sales team to drive regional growth, guide partners through the certification journey, and help them develop their digital strategy.
The role & impact
Xero is growing rapidly within South Africa, and this role is a pivotal position within our local sales team. You will support, advise, and guide our Accounting Partners through their first few months with Xero, helping them onboard their first five clients and reach Bronze Partner status. By making small businesses more efficient every day and connecting them with big business technology, you help build a stronger economy.
As an Account Manager, you will spend most of your time meeting remotely with Partners to understand their businesses and positioning how Xero can work with them more closely. You will manage prospective partner enquiries and proactively contact your partners to offer support, ensuring they have a beautiful experience as they begin their journey with us.
The team & how they connect
You will work alongside our Xero Accounting Partners and the wider South African sales team to drive growth in the region. The team works at a fantastic pace, collaborating closely with Partner Services to ensure our partners are supported from their initial certification stage through to becoming established practices.
The team is currently working on
Supporting and guiding new Partners through the initial Xero Partner Journey and Certification stage
Hosting and inviting partners to introductory events, webinars, and certification sessions
Managing sales tickets and maintaining accurate data within Salesforce to ensure high-quality partner interactions
Helping partners develop their digital strategy to successfully onboard their first five clients

This role involves meeting remotely with partners, providing flexibility in how you engage with your allocated territory. We value progress over perfection and provide the tools, such as Salesforce and the Google suite, to ensure you can work effectively from your location.

You bring experience in internal sales or account management, with a natural ability to build rapport and lasting relationships over the phone
Your background includes working in a SaaS environment or with small business accounting software
You have a genuine interest in the emerging online accounting market and a desire to help accounting practices thrive
You possess excellent communication skills and a process-driven approach to taking ownership of your work
You enjoy working towards clear goals, such as meeting monthly revenue and partner engagement targets
Your attention to detail ensures that CRM data and partner contact details are always accurate and up to date
