Lead accessibility strategy and governance as an Accessibility Coach within Accenture Flex, guiding the organization to embed accessibility across the software development lifecycle. Design and implement a Quality Framework that balances automated scanning with high‑fidelity manual testing, and mentor Frontend and Fullstack developers in semantic HTML and ARIA patterns. Create a library of accessible component patterns and remediation roadmaps from complex audits, and evangelize accessibility to turn it from a QA task into a core engineering value. This role requires onsite work 3 days per week at an Accenture corporate office in the Eastern time zone.
Accenture Flex offers you the flexibility of local fixed-duration project-based work powered by Accenture, a leading global professional services company. Accenture is consistently recognized on FORTUNE's 100 Best Companies to Work For and Diversity Inc's Top 50 Companies For Diversity lists.
As an Accenture Flex employee, you will apply your skills and experience to help drive business transformation for leading organizations and communities. In addition to delivering innovative solutions for Accenture's clients, you will work with a highly skilled, diverse network of people across Accenture businesses who are using the latest emerging technologies to address today's biggest business challenges.
You will receive competitive rewards and access to benefits programs and world-class learning resources. Accenture Flex employees work in their local metro area onsite at the project, significantly reducing and/or eliminating the demands to travel.
Key Responsibilities:
Establish a rigorous "Definition of Done" for ADA that is integrated into every stage of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Design and implement a Quality Framework that balances automated scanning with high-fidelity manual testing protocols.
Architect the workflow that ensures accessibility requirements are captured at the design/discovery phase, reducing remediation costs and technical debt.
Act as a technical mentor to Frontend and Fullstack developers, moving them beyond "div-soup" toward robust, semantic HTML and ARIA patterns.
Create a library of accessible component patterns and documentation that empowers engineering teams to build right the first time.
Evangelize the importance of accessibility across the organization, transforming it from a "QA task" into a shared engineering value.
Conduct expert-level manual audits using Fusion (ZoomText + JAWS) to identify nuanced UX barriers that automated tools miss.
Lead the organizational transition to full JAWS adoption, ensuring all internal and external platforms are optimized for screen-reader power users.
Provide clear, actionable remediation roadmaps based on complex audits, translating technical failures into engineering solutions.
The ideal candidate:
You possess deep, expert-level proficiency in Fusion (JAWS and ZoomText). You understand the nuances of how low-vision and blind users interact with complex web applications.
You have a profound understanding of the DOM, semantic HTML5, and the WAI-ARIA 1.2+ specifications.
You have a proven track record of building accessibility programs in enterprise environments—not just executing tests but defining how testing is done.
You can translate WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA (and AAA) standards into plain language for Product Managers and high-level strategy for Executives.
