  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience with program management within design or UX organizations.
  • Experience with UX projects and UX design, user research, or user-centered development tools and methodologies.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in maintaining design systems.
  • Experience with the product development lifecycle.
  • Experience with facilitation and stakeholder management.
  • Experience in analyzing data and leveraging insights to drive strategy.
  • Experience in managing risks (e.g., operational, product, team health).
  • Experience in partnering on cross-functional projects or teams in a changing environment.

As a UX Program Manager (UX Programs & Operations), you will combine expert project management skills with a passion for user experience to help your team improve the design of products that are used by billions of users. You’ll plan projects, define milestones, assess risks, create actionable insights, and ensure projects meet deadlines. You’ll harmonize the work of UX Designers, Researchers, Content Strategists, UX Engineers, and other UX disciplines, while also working closely with our Engineering and Product Manager cross-functional partners, to drive UX team objectives and create innovative experiences for our business, products, and users. Whether it is paying online with Autofill, using tap and pay in stores, or using the Google Pay app, the Payments team at Google is focused on making payments simple, seamless, and secure. In addition to consumer payment technologies, the Payments team also powers the money movement between Google and its consumers and businesses.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with User Experience (UX) leads in designing and executing end-to-end UX programs; managing timelines, dependencies, and risks to ensure quality launches.
  • Establish, maintain and enhance operational rhythms, team rituals and processes to drive clarity, quality, velocity, and efficient decision-making.
  • Serve as a partner to cross-functional leadership; build and maintain relationships with partners and stakeholders across the organization, ensuring operational alignment.
  • Promote a culture of efficiency, quality and collaboration that empowers the team to deliver excellence.
  • Provide accurate communication to functional leads and executive management regarding project status, risks, issues, and priorities.
