Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in product design or UX.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in designing in Figma (auto-layout, variables, component libraries).

  • Experience with 0-1 products or features.
  • Ability to embrace vibe coding for rapid prototyping.
  • Ability to create interface mockups and prototypes.

The job of an Interaction Designer is to envision how people experience our products and bring that goal to life in a way that feels inspired, refined and even magical. In an Interaction Designer role, you’ll manage tasks and transform them into intuitive, accessible and easy-to-use designs for billions of people around the world—from the first-time user to the sophisticated expert. Achieving this goal requires collaboration with teams of Designers, Researchers, Engineers and Product Managers throughout the design process—from creating user flows and wireframes to building user interface mockups and prototypes. At each stage, you will anticipate what our users need, advocate for them and ensure that the final product surprises and delights them. The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $178,000-$265,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead forward-looking projects focused on highest-value opportunities in Google’s AI, personalization, and age-assurance priorities.
  • Partner with user researchers and data science teams to execute scaled studies and experiments.
  • Build frontier personalization experiences alongside cross-functional teams.
  • Influence executive leaders and stakeholders through an opinionated goal and polished pitch.
  • Drive adoption of canonical, user-centered solutions by aligning multiple partners.
