Seeking a seasoned technical writer to create and maintain merchant-facing documentation for Amazon's Multichannel Commerce & Fulfillment solutions. You'll plan, write, and manage a library of how-to guides, API references, tutorials, release notes, and support content, ensuring clarity and consistency across channels. You'll collaborate with engineers, product managers, UX designers, solutions architects, and customer success managers to translate complex technical information into accessible content and drive improvements in documentation strategy. The role also involves shaping content development processes and contributing to feature readiness and roadmap planning.

Are you excited about enabling merchants to use Amazon-powered solutions to be wildly successful no matter where they sell? Are you energized by the idea of shaping how we create and deliver technical content?

Amazon provides commerce and fulfillment capabilities that integrate with sales channels beyond the Amazon store. The Multichannel Commerce & Fulfillment team is looking for an experienced technical writer to create best-in-class documentation for merchants who are selling across channels from direct-to-consumer sites to social stores to other marketplaces.

You'll play a key role on the team crafting clear, concise, and well-structured documentation for our solutions and services. You'll bring your experience in writing technical documentation, and convey complex technical information to merchants.

You'll craft new and innovative approaches to content development. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, product managers, UX designers, solutions architects, and customer success managers, to develop and maintain a robust library of documentation and resources.

Key job responsibilities
Plan, write, and manage a robust library of clear, comprehensive, merchant-facing documentation, including how-to guides, API documentation, tutorials, release notes, and support content.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, product, UX design, solutions architecture, customer success management, support, marketing, and external partners to understand the functionality of the product and write high-quality documentation that is complete and accurate.

Define best practices, content standards, and workflows for managing and prioritizing product releases and content updates and ensure consistency for merchant-facing content.

Innovate on the content development process through tools, techniques, and technology to raise the bar on the merchant experience.

Collect, collate, and distribute feedback to identify areas of improvement in documentation strategy and influence the roadmap.

Bring a sharp eye for structure, organization, and merchant experience to write content that is up to date, consistent, and complies with standards across the sites and destinations where we reach our audience.

Participate in product readiness reviews and roadmap reviews to stay informed and develop plans for feature releases, modifications, and enhancements.

- Experience using content publishing tools to write, format, manage, and publish technical content on the web
- Experience designing, planning, and delivering content projects
- Have technical writing samples or projects demonstrating past experience and deliverables of technical writing (website, link, reports, portfolio, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with cloud services
- Experience working with Agile project management methodologies
- Experience working with Git or an equivalent distributed version control system
- Experience writing for developer and technical audiences: blog, product documentation, technical information
