Join Amazon's Risk and Compliance Solutions (RCS) team as a UX Designer II to lead the visual design for complex risk, compliance, and assurance products. Design end-to-end user experiences by translating business requirements, user feedback, site metrics, and usability findings into wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, information architecture diagrams, and interaction specifications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and refine UI components, patterns, and design systems while ensuring accessibility and consistency. Help scale compliance operations globally by delivering user-centered designs that reduce manual processes and support Amazon's regulatory objectives.
RCS's work spans multiple critical areas, including enabling Amazon's financial services expansion through streamlined license acquisition, managing existing business risks, delivering comprehensive governance, risk, and assurance services across Amazon, developing innovative solutions like Compliance as a Service (CaaS) and transforming compliance operations into a proactive, intelligence-led framework.
This role is critical for RCS's mission to scale compliance operations through technology, reduce manual processes, and enable Amazon's global expansion while maintaining regulatory compliance.
Key job responsibilities
- Design end-to-end UX for complex and ambiguous risk, compliance, and assurance products
- Create user-centered designs that incorporate business requirements, customer feedback, site metrics, and usability findings and insights
- Design conceptual wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, information architecture diagrams, user flows, and interaction specifications
- Seek out diverse feedback and foster a passion for cross-functional collaboration
- Present design work to multiple teams and senior leadership for review
- Lead the creation and refinement of UI components, patterns, and template libraries, ensuring each element meets high visual craft standards, and reflects a systematic approach to design with a strong eye for consistency
- Continue to shape our visual language and design system
- Advocate for accessibility standards and ensure compliance across components, reflecting your commitment to inclusive design practices.
- Collaborate with a cross functional development team of product managers, engineers, and testers

A day in the life
UX designer in this role is responsible for designing tools that will highly impact risk and compliance services team worldwide to provide excellent service and support to Amazon Businesses. This designer will meet regularly with representatives from product and engineering teams to gather product requirements, transform complex journeys into seamless experiences, interact with users to gather insights, design creative solutions, collaborate with stakeholders and present concepts to cross-functional partners.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of design experience- 3+ years of delivering design solutions as a UX designer or interaction designer experience
- Experience acquiring user data (e.g., conducting usability studies, performing user research) and creating personas and journey maps
- Experience designing and prototyping with tools such as Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, InVision, or similar
- Experience prototyping (HTML, XHTML, JavaScript, CSS, Flash or Flash Catalyst, or Axure)
- Have an available online portfolio
- Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a collaborative team and working directly with developers for implementation of designs- Knowledge of usability principles and techniques
