Arm is seeking a Staff Information Developer / Technical Writer to create engaging, credible content for sophisticated software products and tools used by a global audience. You will collaborate with engineers, product managers, and domain experts to understand the technical landscape, identify where content makes the biggest impact, and shape the content strategy. The role involves hands-on writing across user guides, UI content, knowledge-base articles, tutorials, and other formats, with a focus on docs as code and tooling automation. This position offers autonomy within a collaborative team and opportunities to contribute to how Arm delivers technical content for major projects.

Job Overview

Are you passionate about writing and curious about ground-breaking technology? Arm’s technology powers 95% of the world’s connected devices, from healthcare to smart homes!

To support our users, we need a writer who thrives being at the heart of software development. Our tools optimise application performance and accelerate innovation across devices. We create content that helps users understand and work with these tools with confidence.

That means more than writing guides — it’s about creating strong relationships with product and support teams, asking the right questions, and getting hands-on with the tools. We test, experiment, and dig deep to build content that’s accurate, credible, and genuinely useful.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation of engaging, purposeful content for sophisticated software products — shaping how we connect with users.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and domain experts to understand the technical landscape and identify where content makes the biggest impact.
  • Use your judgement to strengthen content strategy, fill information gaps, and meet the needs of a global audience.
  • Bring smart ideas for tooling, automation, and AI — not for novelty, but to improve outcomes.
  • Champion better ways of working and help evolve how we deliver.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Significant experience as a technical writer for software products.
  • Proficient with content and collaboration tools like Markdown, rST, Git, Gerrit, Confluence, and Jira; comfortable in a Docs as Code environment.
  • Confident in agile settings, partnering with Engineering and UX to contribute to both documentation and intuitive UI design.
  • Hands-on with products — willing to explore, test, and break things to understand how they work, and proactive in feeding insights back into the product.

You may have a relevant degree or post-grad qualification — but it’s not crucial.

We value strong experience in Technical Communications or Information Development just as much. Familiarity with sophisticated UIs, command-line tools, embedded systems, or adjacent technical skills is a bonus.

Most important is your ability to learn fast, grow in the role, and share your experience and knowledge with the team.

In Return

This role offers autonomy and trust — ideal for someone who knows what good looks like, challenges assumptions, and brings practical insight to their work.

You’ll be part of a collaborative, supportive team that regularly co-delivers content for major projects. We’re part of the Sales and Partner Enablement Group, and we create technical content including user docs, UI improvements, knowledge-base articles, tutorials, and multimedia.

Technical Communications has a strong global presence, with writers from a diverse set of backgrounds and all experience levels. We guide, share, and grow together as a community.

Hybrid Working at Arm

Arm’s approach to hybrid working is designed to create a working environment that supports both high performance and personal wellbeing. We believe in bringing people together face to face to enable us to work at pace, whilst recognizing the value of flexibility. Within that framework, we empower groups/teams to determine their own hybrid working patterns, depending on the work and the team’s needs. Details of what this means for each role will be shared upon application. In some cases, the flexibility we can offer is limited by local legal, regulatory, tax, or other considerations, and where this is the case, we will collaborate with you to find the best solution. Please talk to us to find out more about what this could look like for you.
