Lead Barclays' UI initiatives as a UI Lead in Pune, driving the delivery of large-scale front-end solutions. You will bring hands-on Java and React experience, design patterns, REST APIs with Spring Boot, and strong UI tech (React, HTML5, JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS3). You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, manage risks, and guide Agile/Scrum delivery across multi-location teams, with a focus on security, regulatory controls, and continuous learning.

To be a successful UI Lead, you should have experience with:

  • Skilled and experienced Java engineer with hands on experience in React JS.
  • Knowledge of design patterns and application security aspects combined with experience in developing REST APIs using Sprint BOOT Framework.
  • Strong Knowledge of UI Technologies React, HTML5, JavaScript, Typescript, CSS3,. less, Bootstrap CSS, Node.js, Jest, Transport – JSON over HTTP.
  • Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to find ways to overcome obstacles and self-teach new concepts.
  • Knowledge in React Native is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate and present technical concepts with clarity.

Additional relevant skills given below are highly valued:

  • Experience in working with relational databases like Oracle, MySQL.
  • Understanding MERN stack.
  • Experience in an agile delivery environment while also working with multi-location teams. Aware of and comfortable in working within regulatory controls.
  • Experience in working with Docker and Kubernetes, such as in an OpenShift environment.

Education:
Graduation degree :  B.E/B Tech/MTech/MCA

Minimum Experience – 9+ years in Java and related technologies.

This role is based in Pune.

Purpose of the role

To manage the efficient delivery of large-scale technical projects and capabilities across the bank and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations throughout the software product lifecycle, adhering to agreed time, budget and quality requirements. 

Accountabilities

  • Management of the delivery, resource allocation and improvement of complex technical project capabilities across the bank using Agile/Scrum methodologies for planning, stand-ups, demos, retrospectives and the execution of sprints.
  • Collaboration with customers and business teams to manage and implement customer trails to support the proposal of technically feasible solutions, and effort and timeline expectations.
  • Collaboration with software engineers, quality teams, product managers and other engineering teams to deliver high-quality products and features through the software project lifecycle aligned to the banks objectives, regulation and security policies.
  • Identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks associated with technical projects to prepare the bank for potential challenges.
  • Management of change requests and communication with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Management of vendor relations involved in technical projects to ensure they deliver according to agreed terms.
  • Stay abreast of the latest industry technology trends and technologies, to evaluate and adopt new approaches to improving deliver outcomes and to foster a culture of continuous learning, technical excellence and growth.

Assistant Vice President Expectations

  • Consult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
  • Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.
  • Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practises (in other areas, teams, companies, etc).to solve problems creatively and effectively.
  • Communicate complex information. 'Complex' information could include sensitive information or information that is difficult to communicate because of its content or its audience.
  • Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
