As a Content Designer, you will partner with Design, Product Management, and Engineering to craft in-app UI copy and product messaging that improves usability and adoption. You’ll write labels, feature names, and instructional copy, review existing copy, and help drive tone consistency across the product. You’ll collaborate with UX designers, researchers, marketing, PMs, and engineers, using feedback and data to inform copy decisions while delivering content on time with product releases. This role is a hybrid position with weekly in-office expectations.

What you'll do As a Content Designer, you will be an integral partner with the Design, Product Management, and Engineering teams. You'll produce UI content that enhances the user experience and makes the product easy to adopt. You understand the importance of deep customer knowledge and its impact on content. You’ll thrive when writing original in-app copy and the supporting product copy, all while collaborating with multiple stakeholders, including Design, Research, Marketing, Product Management, and more. This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Manager, Content Design. Responsibility Develop and maintain UI copy for assigned product capabilities and features Write new copy for the Docusign UI, including labels, feature naming, instructional in-app user communication, and more Review and revise existing copy to ensure it meets current standards and user needs Ensure timely delivery of copy that aligns with product releases and quality standards Help drive clarity and consistency in tone and terminology, and use a systemic approach for in-product copy Contribute to content standards and guidelines, ensuring consistency and clarity Collaborate with UX designers to create a cohesive cross-product experience Use feedback and data to make informed content decisions and improve copy Serve as the resident UI copy expert, collaborating and coaching the designers, writers, PMs, and engineers as appropriate Job Designation Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation) Positions at Docusign are assigned a job designation of either In Office, Hybrid or Remote and are specific to the role/job. Preferred job designations are not guaranteed when changing positions within Docusign. What you bring Basic 5+ years of experience in content design, UX copywriting or a related field 5+ years of experience supporting delivery for web apps Experience with creating UI content in a high-tech environment, preferably a SaaS, software, or hardware environment Experience working with and creating content guidelines Experience with Google Workspace A portfolio of UX-focused writing samples and/or style guidelines Experience working on multi-disciplinary teams Preferred Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Experience writing for a variety of audiences, including enterprise customers Familiarity with structured-authoring frameworks or tools (e.g., CCMS) Familiarity with design tools (e.g., Figma) Familiarity with generative AI tools Ability to use feedback to improve content and contribute to documentation quality Wage Transparency Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations: California: $126,900.00 - $197,800.00 base salary Illinois, Colorado, Massachusetts and Minnesota: $120,800.00 - $166,100.00 base salary Washington, Maryland, New Jersey and New York (including NYC metro area): $120,800.00 - $174,525.00 base salary This role is also eligible for the following: Bonus: Sales personnel are eligible for variable incentive pay dependent on their achievement of pre-established sales goals. Non-Sales roles are eligible for a company bonus plan, which is calculated as a percentage of eligible wages and dependent on company performance. Stock: This role is eligible to receive Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
