Join GitLab's UX Research team to support multiple product domains, including Core DevOps Workflows, Monetization, and Security & Compliance. You will lead tactical studies to help teams make fast decisions and contribute to strategic research to uncover user needs and opportunities. You'll collaborate with Senior and Staff UX Researchers, as well as Product Design and Product Management, to plan, conduct, analyze, and socialize insights using a mix of qualitative and quantitative methods. This remote, fast-paced role emphasizes producing actionable insights that directly influence product design and strategy.

About the Role You'll be joining GitLab's UX Research team, supporting various product domains including Core DevOps Workflows, Monetization, Security and Compliance. We're looking for someone who can ramp up to a highly technical area quickly. You'll lead tactical studies (helping teams make fast decisions) and contribute to strategic research (uncovering user needs and opportunities). This role requires comfort with ambiguity, the ability to balance speed and rigor, and flexibility to adapt your approach based on team needs and timelines. You'll work alongside Senior and Staff UX Researchers who will support your growth, while building strong collaborative relationships with your Product Design and Product Management counterparts. What makes this role unique: Research enterprise developer tools and DevOps workflows Work across multiple product areas, building broad product knowledge Fast-paced environment where research directly influences design decisions Opportunity to learn from experienced researchers while making immediate impact What you’ll bring Empathetic, curious and open-minded. Deep experience running mixed-methods research. Experience working directly with stakeholders and be comfortable guiding them to the most appropriate research approach (in particular if they have a different opinion). Experience working in a highly iterative, fast paced environment, and have the ability to pivot with sudden changes in direction. Self-motivated and self-managing , with strong organizational skills. Ability to ramp up to a highly technical domain quickly. Share our values , and work in accordance with those values. Able to conduct research in a fully remote setting. Experience working on enterprise and/or developer tooling products is a plus. What you’ll do Be the expert on the users within your allocated area of coverage: know how they use the GitLab, their pain points, their workflows, etc. Collaborate with GitLab designers, product managers and engineers on a wide array of research projects. Conduct all stages of UX research: identifying, planning, driving, conducting, analyzing, and reporting out insights. Use a wide variety of qualitative and quantitative research methods to apply to research questions. Communicate out statuses and updates of project work to stakeholders. Advocate for and socialize actionable insights independently and in a clear and compelling way to increase empathy. Produce research insights that result in impact. Participate in some of the research fielded by Senior and/or Staff Researchers to gain knowledge and exposure to more complex research projects. Actively contribute to the UX Research team culture by iterating on existing processes and documentation and contributing to peer reviews. moMEA The base salary range for this role’s listed level is currently for residents of the United States only. This range is intended to reflect the role's base salary rate in locations throughout the US. Grade level and salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant, equity with other team members, alignment with market data, and geographic location.
