Job Description
RBC Wealth Management is a part of Royal Bank of Canada (“RBC”), one of the largest providers of financial services in the world. What is the opportunity?
On the RBC Wealth Management Design team, we encourage designers at all stages to continuously learn and grow. We put strategy, research, design principles, and technical innovation at the center of everything we do. As a content design intern on our team, you will be immersed in an environment that fosters creativity and a learning mindset.
What will you do?
- Create UX/UI visual concept and user flow for user testing, and produce high fidelity prototypes for product delivery
- Collaborate closely with Interface Designers, Visual Designers, Front-end Developers and Product Managers to shape the value proposition of the experiences we design and build
- Help project teams to understand how content shapes our clients’ experiences
- Work closely with business stakeholders to become a subject matter expert on the client offering
- Apply all the tools available in your strategic kit: content audits, competitive analyses, content mapping
- Consider the additional or alternate content required to make our experiences accessible to clients using assistive technologies
- Find the best ways to bring the RBC digital voice to life as you help clients to do what matters most to them
- Participating in correspondence management, gathering product requests from customers and providing effective feedback.
- Gathering information on market requirements and the competition landscape; analyzing potential product innovations, within the industry.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Enrollment in a post-secondary institution (university or college) in a Design program (e.g., User Experience, Interaction, Graphic, Communications, Product, Industrial Design) or a related field or equivalent experience
- Experience writing for an audience outside your area of expertise (practice communicating ideas to people who may not already know what you’re talking about)
- Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Aptitude for self-starting, for discovering what needs to be done, even when no one else sees it
- A strong portfolio demonstrating visual design skills and creative flair
- Eagerness to collaborate with colleagues from other disciplines and your own
- Willingness to challenge the opinions of the group with respect and the comfort to receive those same challenges from others
Nice-to-have:
- Experience in Banking or Financial Services
- Have a strong understanding of the product design process (from research, user flows, wireframing, prototyping, and testing)
- A strong understanding of Accessibility and Inclusive Design practices.
